Laura Panno

Born in 1954 in Montebelluna, in the province of Treviso. She's from the Veneto italian region, she lives and works in Milan. She graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia di Venezia, she moved to Milan in 1979, where, the following year, she presented her first solo exhibition at the Galleria Naviglio. Since then there have been many other personal exhibitions (we recall, among the most recent, the one at the Garner Tullis Gallery in New York and the Milanese one at the Mudima Foundation) and numerous collective exhibitions, including the 1980 Biennale di Venezia, the Biennale d'Arte di Milano in 1987 and 1993, the Triennali dell'Incisione in Milan in 1991 and 1994. Currently Laura Panno resides in Milan where she combines her personal artistic research with the teaching of Engraving at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.

After the Art School she graduated in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, in 1976; she continued her studies in Abstract Art at the Salzburg Academy with Mario De Luigi and she enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, where she was a teacher of Graphics and Engraving Techniques. Invited by the critic Tommaso Trini, she participated in Aperto 82 at the Biennale di Venezia where she exhibited three-dimensional painting, naked bodies, painted and modeled with wire mesh.

She still dedicates herself to painting, sculpture and graphics. In New York she produced a series of works in the encausto technique with the publisher Garner Tullis, giving life to the volume Tauriform (published by Skira), accompanied by the historian, critic John Yau. She exhibited in New York, Madrid, Milan and in museums in Andalusia; in Paris and Barbizon, France.
Without abandoning the multiple forms of expression that characterize her artistic production, she continues her research with glass in Murano. Always passionate about photographic media, she exhibits her photographs for the first time at the Fotografia Italiana Arte Contemporanea gallery, Saint Tropez.
Her personal exhibition, curated by Fabio Castelli, is related to the book Corpus (ed. Skira) and the presentation by prof. Carlo Bertelli.

Corpus is linked to the "Body", a theme that has always been explored by the artist, and to the network of the death chamber.
